Your cataract surgery with Dr. Moran will be performed at the Surgery Center of Allentown (SCOA).
This state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center provides the best in care in a modern, convenient and efficient setting. Located at 250 Cetronia Road in Allentown, SCOA provides valet parking for our patients.
A WEEK BEFORE YOUR SURGERY: A week before your surgery, you will receive a call from the nursing staff at SCOA. You will be given a pre-surgery interview to go over your health history and current medications. The nurse will answer any questions you may have.
THE DAY BEFORE YOUR SURGERY: You will receive a call in the afternoon, with your arrival time and surgery time. If you don’t hear from them by 4pm, please give them a call at (484) 477-0622
Do NOT EAT or DRINK anything after midnight the night before your surgery.
THE DAY OF SURGERY: You can plan on being at SCOA for about 2 hours total for your cataract surgery. When you arrive, go to the 3rd floor to check in.
Dr. Moran will visit with you in the pre-operative area, and review your procedure. When it is time for your surgery, he will bring you into the surgical suite. After the procedure, you will be wheeled out to the post-op area, where he will talk to you about the results of your surgery.
Your driver/companion should remain at SCOA with you. They will be able to wait with you in the pre-op area prior to your surgery. They will also be called from the waiting room to keep you company while you have a snack and get ready to go home.
