Your Lens Options

Together, you and Dr. Moran have determined that you are ready for cataract surgery.  During cataract surgery, he will remove your clouded lens and replace it with a lens implant (IOL).  Today’s lens implants make it possible to see better than you have in years…possibly without the need for glasses!

 SELECT YOUR LENS:

You will meet with one of our patient educators who will help you select the type of intraocular lens (IOL) implant for your surgery. We will ask you to choose from three types of lens implants; they vary in degrees of correction, and they vary in the amount of out-of-pocket costs for our patients.

Want to see a full range of vision without the need for glasses?

Choose ReSTOR– This multifocal lens can reduce or eliminate your dependency on glasses.  ReSTOR allows for both distance, mid-range and near vision due to its unique ringed design. With ReSTOR, 80% of patients never need glasses again. The out-of-pocket expense is $2250/per eye.

Need correction for your astigmatism?

Choose TORIC – This customizable lens allows for sharper distance vision for patients with astigmatism. Clear distance vision free from the blur of astigmatism is the goal with the TORIC lens.  The out-of-pocket expense is  $1200/per lens.

Comfortable with having to use reading glasses?

Choose Single Vision Lens Implants – With a single-vision lens implant, you will still need glasses for one or more areas of vision following surgery.  The cost of this lens is usually covered by most insurances.

If you rely on someone to help you make important healthcare and financial decisions, bring them along to your appointment.  We give you more specific information on the best lens choice for you, taking into consideration your vision goals and budget.
